Birds are beautifully inspiring. They gracefully soar, sing melodies, and radiate beauty in each of their many brilliant feathers. I have come to appreciate their God given beauty through the pursuit of my own art. I had found that the more that I study the different species of birds, the more intrigued I become, and the more I find them to be beautifully made. I painted a Gold Tailed Finch for my grandmother on Christmas, as it is her favorite bird. I wanted to add a radiant gold shimmer to contrast with the birds radiant blue, while also keeping to the birds name sake. It turned out better then I hoped, and was very excited to give it to her. I made this painting with acrylic paint, and a lot of patience. I hope that the Gold Tailed Finch brings my grandmother joy for Christmas seasons to come.
